The Christmas Tree Returns
As we told you last year, for a few weeks each December, Travel and Transport’s headquarters building transforms itself into Omaha’s Largest Artificial Christmas Tree. That tradition almost ended this year.
There have been a few changes among the tenants of the building this year. With those changes, it was decided that maybe the giant tree of fluorescent wonder that brought joy into the hearts of all those lucky enough to pass by 2120 South 72nd Street should quietly disappear into the night like so many holiday traditions do (hum your favorite holiday carol here to enhance the emotion of this sentence).
Then we started hearing from many of you. Travel and Transport doesn’t own the building, but our name is at the top of it so we received numerous comments and questions about when the tree would be appearing. We also heard from a great many Travel and Transport employee-owners who work in the building and have pride in telling the people of Omaha that they work in the building that turns into a Christmas tree.
Spearheaded by Travel and Transport’s Vice President of Human Resources John Mock, it was decided that the tree should make an appearance in 2011 after all. John went to each tenant in the building, got their buy-in and organized which blinds should remain open, which should stay closed, and which lights should be turned off at night. We are happy to tell you that starting this weekend you will be able to see our giant Christmas tree until the end of the year.
Thank you to everyone who has told us that you enjoy our giant tree and that you wanted it to come back. We have heard you and we’re happy to keep this Omaha holiday tradition going for a long time to come.

Wow, it really does look like a gaint Christmas tree. It's a very unique concept; curious as to who even came up wit the idea. It must have been a lot of organizing in order to get everyone to participate. And what if someone wanted to work overnight or late?
